Meet Raye: Ask a Question, Get the Signals That Matter

By Conor Landry

Parallax Vision collects a lot. Signals about your company and your competitors, stories as they break, coverage across news and social, money moving through a race. All of it is useful. Finding the part that answers your question, right now, has always taken work: filters, searches, scrolling, and a good memory for where you saw something last week.

Raye changes that. Raye is the AI analyst built into Parallax Vision. You ask a question in plain language, and Raye goes through the database for you, step by step, until it finds the signals that answer it.

What Raye Is

Raye lives on every page of Parallax Vision. It sits as a small chat icon in the corner until you need it, then opens in a column beside whatever you're looking at, so you never lose your place. Every question and answer is timestamped, and past conversations are saved in your history so you can pick one up where you left off.

You don't need to learn a query language or know where a piece of data lives. If you can ask a colleague, you can ask Raye.

How Raye Finds the Signals That Matter

A keyword search returns whatever matches your words. That works when you already know what you're looking for. It breaks down when the question is bigger than a keyword, like "what changed in the race this week?" or "what are competitors launching?"

Raye works more like an analyst than a search box.

It Follows the Trail

Raye doesn't run one search and hand you the results. It searches, reads what comes back, and decides where to look next. A question about a competitor might start with that one company, widen to the rest of your competitive set, and then narrow again to the stories behind a change. Each step builds on the last, and Raye can take several of them for a single question before it answers.

It Starts From What You're Looking At

Right-click any signal, story or research section in Parallax Vision and choose Ask Raye. Raye starts from that item instead of from scratch. You can also highlight text and ask about just that, or send up to eight items to Raye at once and ask how they connect. With something attached, Raye suggests the questions people ask most: explain this in plain terms, what it means for us, and what we should do about it.

It Stays Inside Your Data

Raye only works with your organization's data in Parallax Vision. It is built to answer briefly, in plain language, and never to make up numbers. When it tells you something, it is because it found it.

It Can Go Get More

Sometimes the answer isn't in the database yet. When that happens, Raye can offer to request fresh signals for a company. Nothing runs until you confirm, and new signals appear as they're found.

What You Can Ask

A few of the questions people start with:

  • "Where does the race stand?" A plain summary of the contest as it stands today.
  • "What changed in the polls this week?" The movement that matters, not every data point.
  • "Who is raising and spending the most?" The money picture without digging through filings.
  • "What features did competitors launch this month?" Product moves across your competitive set, in one answer.
  • "What's the story here?" Asked of any signal, for a short summary of what happened and why it matters.

Why This Matters

The value of an intelligence platform has always depended on how fast people can get answers out of it. A database full of the right signals does little good if finding them takes twenty minutes and three filters, or if only one person on the team knows where to look.

Raye turns the database into something your whole team can talk to. The analyst with a hunch, the communications director preparing for tomorrow, and the executive who wants the one-paragraph version can all get to the same signals, in the time it takes to ask.

It also changes what people ask. When a question costs twenty minutes, people only ask the ones they're sure are worth it. When it costs ten seconds, they ask the follow-up, and the follow-up is often where the insight is.

The Bottom Line

Raye is the fastest way to get from a question to the signals that answer it. It follows the trail through your data the way an analyst would, starts from whatever you're looking at, and tells you only what it found.

Raye has just launched in Parallax Vision. Look for the chat icon in the corner of any page, or right-click anything and ask.
